Three For Me! Volunteer at Whispering Pines Elementary
This school year, we are starting a simple program to help us welcome volunteers, while uniting many parents with our WPE teachers and staff. This National PTA program asks families to donate three hours of volunteer time over the course of the school year. Volunteer opportunities are varied to meet the needs, talents, and schedules of our families. Examples of ways you can help are posded on our volunteer site.
2011-2012 Reflections Program: "Together we can..."
PTA believes all children deserve a quality education and encourages students to pursue expression through participation in its annual arts Reflections Program. The program offers students the opportunity to create works of art for fun and recognition.
Anti-Bully Program
November 16th through 20th is Anti-Bully Week. The PTA, in conjunction withour school counselor, Ms. Flores, will coordinate activies throughout the week to bring awareness and informative discussions to bullying issues to provent such acts in our school.
Pop Tab Collection Program "The House That Love Built" This is a terrific opportunity for children to get involved and make a contribution to their community. Simply collect the pull tabs from aluminum cans, and submit your donation to your childŐs teacher. The money raised from the collection of the pop tab aluminum benefits the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House. When submitting your collection, please include your childŐs name and teacher on the Ziploc bag for upcoming incentives and prizes.

Using the positive influence of fathers and father-figures to be active role-models for students by volunteering at their school.
Spelling Bee
Students will have the opportunity to compete against other students in their grade level. The winner will advance to the WPE Spelling Bee and possibly the regional competition. Try-outs for third grade, fourth grade and fifth grade students will be November 8,9,10. The Spelling Bee will be on Thursday, December 8 hosted in the WPE Cafeteria.
Red Ribbon Week
October 23rd through 30th is Red Ribbon Week. The students at Whispering Pines will participate in fun activities during the week to promote ŇJust Say No to DrugsÓ.
